I was standing on a balcony in KL, Malaysia waiting to serve drinks at a Christmas Banquet for the homeless, and all I could think about was the overwhelming stench of the precious people before me. That was when the Lord quietly whispered to my heart, “As you did it unto the least of these, you did it unto Me.” In that moment everything changed, one word from my Lord brought into sharp focus why I was there.
My prayer has become, “Lord, I choose to do as you have admonished me and do everything with all my might, as unto You. I ask for Your heart for people, for the one in front of me. May I see them through Your eyes, and truly be a conduit of Your mighty love for them. Use me to call out the greatness You have placed in them by first proclaiming their beauty and worth by simply loving them as You love them. Lord, let me be Your hands and feet.”
Please join me in this prayer that these words are burned deep on my heart for the rest of my life, “As you did it unto the least of these, you did it unto Me.”
Love and blessings,
Bethany
P.S. Let me know how I can be praying for you!
