This month we are staying
in Kuala Krai in Malaysia. We are
working with a Malaysian Pastor of Indian decent while living above a Chinese
Church. We have a huge mixture of
cultures to work with.
This month we are doing
various types of ministry:
- We are working on the Pastor’s land doing
manual labor. We are doing construction on a building that will be a
church, place for the homeless, and hostile. It’s a working progress and we women are learning how
to get down and dirty.

- We are preaching this month. We are preaching
at the Chinese church, the Malay church, and during home visits. Along with preaching, I am doing
special songs at each service.

- We are doing home visits. We have not actually experienced
home visits yet, but so far know that we are expected to share something
at each one.

- Lastly, we are teaching math, English, and
spelling to eight Malay kids twice a week.
This month is going to be
very crazy, but God is going to stretch me so much.

So far we have learned a
lot about the Malay culture.
Malay people are known to be Muslim.
If you are Malay then you are Muslim.
The government has passed a few laws that constrict these people to the Muslim
religion.
If you are born Malay, then you must be a Muslim.
If you marry a Malay, you must be Muslim.
Every Malay family will remain Muslim from generation to generation.
If the person tries to switch religions they face imprisonment or rejection
from their community. This is Satan’s way of forming spiritual bondage on this
nation. Many people are too afraid to change beliefs because of the fear of
persecution. The spiritual chains
on this nation’s lives are great.
Pray that God will begin to break the chains of bondage and bring
freedom to these people. Also pray
that these people will not have a fear of man, but begin to choose Jesus
because they know Him to be the true God.
