This month I have been working with and living at Challenge Farm  in Kitale, Kenya. ChallengeFarm is a ministry established by an American woman named Cheri.  The whole ministry began when Cheri and her husband noticed hundreds and thousands of kids playing and living in the streets of Kitale. Cheri and her husband saw the need and they did something about it.  They started driving down to the poorest streets, feeding the kids, and tried taking care of them as best as possible.

In 2000 Cheri bought the land that now makes Challenge Farm.  There are 100 children living here on the propriety.  They are taken care of, educated, and fed.  Most of all they are taught about Jesus Christ several times a week.  Many of her students have accepted Jesus as their savior and are now living their lives for Him.

The children’s testimonies are amazing and also very heartbreaking.  A lot of them lived on the streets with no food or family.  Most of the times they would be high off of sniffing glue to stifle their hunger, but also to help stifle their emotional and spiritual hunger as well.

The children came to the farm malnourished. Not only did they need food, but the love of a family and love from their heavenly Father.  It is truly miraculous that a place like Challenge Farm even exists.  This is how I know that God did it.

It is easy for me to look at Cheri and let my jaw drop to the floor in amazement of her success.  But then I look at the children around me, I hear their stories of transformation, and I know that it is by the Grace of God these children are saved.

It is by God’s power that Challenge Farm exists.  Yes, Cheri is a wonderful woman of God.  But she isn’t amazing by her own success, she is amazing by how she let God use her simple obedience.

This place inspires me. I know that if God can take a Godly woman like Cheri to impact hundreds of lives, then He can do the same thing through me.  All that it takes is obedience.

You see, a lot of times everyone talks about changing the world, but nothing ever gets changed.  The only way you can truly change the world is if you walk in obedience to God’s will for your life.  It is His will working through us that will change the world, not ours.

Today spend time seeing the needs of those around you and be obedient to God’s voice. You never know, He might use you to change the world.
