Last month was a breath of fresh air.  Challenge Farm, Mama Cheri, the children, Kitale. Everything was very refreshing. I loved last month, despite lying in bed for two weeks with malaria, the flue, and a fever. I realized that God had truly blessed me with the ministry and contact that we had.

Challenge Farm houses about 120 former street kids. These kids have been taken from the streets, from begging for money, from sniffing glue, and from getting beaten by their own families.

Many of the children have heart-breaking stories:

Geffrey, one of the teenagers, has a story where his stepmother used him as a slave. One day she tried sacrificing him, but he thankfully escaped after hearing a voice from God.

Purity, a nine year old girl, had lost her mother to depression after losing her second born in child-birth. Her mother blamed Purity and wished she was dead instead. Purity was actually a child we cast a demon out of while on the farm.

Lilian, a fourteen year old girl, had run away from home and ended up at challenge farm. Her mother had turned to alcohol and ran out on her family.  Her father had ended up in jail. Lilian was left to wander the streets. Thankfully she ended up at Challenge Farm and was beaming about skipping a grade and finally going into fifth grade!

Allan, a ten year old boy, wants to be a pilot one day. Before Challenge Farm he lived on the streets, never felt loved, and told us that he used to do “bad stuff”.  But now he has gotten to know his Savior and finally feels loved!

Challenge Farm has reached capacity. Or at least budget wise they have.  Mama Cheri taught me a lot about relying on faith for the next day, bill, or even child that would step onto the farm.

The expenses for challenge farm are about $12,000 per month. Of which they have a steady flow of only $5,000 coming in each month. So every month, she has to depend on God to somehow bring in $7,000. Every Month.

Not only that, but every child needs a sponsor. Sadly only about 50% of the children have the sponsors they need.

Challenge Farm provides these children with education, clothing, food, and housing. They also provide the children with counselors and God-fearing caretakers.  They have a staff that loves the Lord and loves the children as well.

Mama Cheri hopes to one-day build a counseling center so that it can help mothers, fathers, and other people within the community.  Also, she wants to build bathrooms within the boy’s dorms and establish a center for bio-fuel production that will eventually cut the cost of energy supply needed on the farm.

Challenge Farm is a miracle. Only God could have created such a ministry, let alone continue to grow it despite the financial needs.  God has provided the resources every month.

I have seen the faces of these children. I have heard tons of their stories. I know that Challenge Farm is the only opportunity for any of them to ever obtain a steady job, source of income, education, and most importantly experience God’s love.

I can’t provide the money needed each month. But I can be a voice. And all of you can be the body.

Together we can help continue to change the lives in Kitale, Kenya.
We can continue to be apart of the growth God is doing there.
We can allow the capacity level to go far beyond 120 children.
Most importantly, we can be apart of leading a child to Christ.

Will you provide that opportunity for these children and many more?

I ask you to pray about becoming a partner with Challenge Farm by donating monthly or sponsoring a child.
