Christmas is my absolute favorite holiday. Don’t you just love gathering with your family to enjoy yummy food? Beautiful lights and decorations everywhere you look. Drinking a cup of hot cocoa in your fuzzy socks while you watch the snow fall. So many good things…

However, aren’t we often missing something?

The birth of Christ. In my opinion, I think we should celebrate this everyday. But on the one day we do chose to thank God for sending His son, it seems as though He isn’t our main focus. We get in the mind set of receiving – and we tend to forget about giving. Giving is my favorite thing! So I wanted to share ideas with you for this holiday season??

This is all I want for Christmas:
I want you to step out of your comfort zone and give to someone in need.
It may be awkward and a little uncomfortable, but I promise it will be so rewarding!

Here are some of my favorite things I have done in the past:
– Pay for someone’s groceries
– Bake cookies for your neighbor
– Leave your waiter/ waitress a larger tip than usual
– Take someone you haven’t talked to in awhile out for coffee
– Take flowers to a nursing home
– Babysit for free
– Send someone a letter/email/text saying how grateful you are for them
– Buy gifts for children who might not get any this year
– Make a meal for a large family
– Buy food for the next homeless person you come across
– Bring doughnuts in to work to share with your coworkers

Not only are these random acts of kindness, but you can use this as a gateway to share the gospel! Show them the love of Christ and remind them what Christmas is about.

I would love to know if you participated in any of these 🙂 Comment what you did or maybe what you’ve done in the past and how it turned out! Thanks for spreading the love of Jesus!

Much love from Africa ??
