Big News! BIG NEWS!!
I’m on September route 4!
This announcement is long overdue, I’ve been invited to join an awesome opportunity on the race. In June I received an email about a dream come true for Seth Barnes, the founder of the World Race. September route 4 is BEING FILMED into a documentary/ tv show series/ movie/ its a project and we’ll see what happens!
My initial reaction, I was very hesitant! I actually didn’t think much into it. Iwas busy at camp and didnt have time to process or choose any changes. I asked a few friends what they thought and I decided against it. I didn’t like the idea of a camera crew following a squad on missions. It felt invasive, and in my head I had made it out to be “the Real Word, Jesus edition”. If you’ve ever seen an episode of “the Real World” its not a great portrayal of young adulthood. Its about 10 strangers picked to live in an unknown place for several months while their daily lives are filmed. The series has a reputation as a showcase for immature and irresponsible behavior, highlighting drama and showing differences in a negative light. So I decided this opportunity was not for me, I was committed to my original route.
It took me an entire month after being personally invited a second time to rethink my initial assumptions. I weighed out the pros & cons with friends that love me, I mean I’m a Communication minor for goodness sake! And those 5 years in college I thought my minor would never be used lol. I called Kelly King at the world race office the day of the deadline, researched grey media, prayed about it and sat with the Lord to processed the idea…and after about an hour around the camp fire in prayer I decided, I’m doing it. I am taking another leap of faith into the unknown and I couldn’t be more excited! Kelly calmed all of my anxieties! She answered every question and then some. Gray Media is legit and such encouragers of our faith and this process. Our two camera guys Rokks and Trey are into missions, telling our stories, and the stories of those around the world. It wouldn’t be a stretch to say they are all a part of this wonderful K squad family!

The World RaceTV Documentary Project is an authentic look into the lives of modern day missionaries, with all of the internal and external conflict and purpose that comes from living life unconventionally.
Our yearlong project follows 55 people and their stories as they trek to exotic locations and help the local communities while dealing with the ongoing struggle of living and traveling together. Every month is in a new country with fresh adventures and obstacles. 11 countries. 11 months. 1 BIG Project.
Beth, what are your new 11 countries? I don’t know! YAY, we know 9 of our 11 countries. Our 1st country is defiantly Guatemala. And it’s been rumored that we will serve on 4 continents. Here’s what I know,
Guatemala, Nicaragua, Thailand/ Burma, Vietnam, Philippines, India, Nepal, Botswana, Swaziland, ???10, ???11.

Then I heard the voice of The Lord saying,
“whom shall I send? And who will go for us?”
And I said, “Here am I. SEND ME!”
