My Month 2 on the World Race Granada Nicaragua!
Welcome to Month 2 of my 11 month mission trip around the world. My team worked and lived at El Puente in Granada, Nicaragua. We cooked all of our food, lived with 5 guineas, and a 24 hour guard on the grounds of our beautiful primitive housing right on the outskirts of the historic district. This month my team experience 5 ministries a week. We spent hours at the home of the Ancients, loving on the elderly. I even gained a new Grandma! We worked with the local youth making handcrafted goods to sell like christmas ornaments, earrings and boxes. We worked with a preschool feeding program playing games, teaching fine motor skills, how to write their name, and about the love of the Lord all while receiving a FREE nutritious meal! I shared my testimony with 30 hard working people the dump where we served meals every Tuesday . I Played new games with children that could’t stop laughing at my very white WHITE “gringo” self. I surfed at one of the most beautiful beaches in the world and even caught a few good waves! I played a LOT of Futbol, read an entire book, and cried every monday, wednesday and sunday because bilingual worship and church services just get me like that. Hearing praises to God in another language always touches my heart. I walked over three miles a day,traveled in more over crowded busses than I can count, drank enough orange fanta for my entire team, dressed as “Master Splinter” form the ninja turtles for halloween and enjoyed every moment in this beautiful country!
