Tomorrow we leave for the Philippines very early in the morning. We have three layovers and will make it to Manila sometime on the 3rd. Upon arrival, my team will be heading to Tent City. I know virtually nothing about it, except that we will likely be truly “roughing it” for the first time on this Race, with no indoor plumbing, no internet, no beds, and possibly no electricity. It will be hot. There will be bugs. The people there are poor. They have next to nothing.
It will be hard.
And I’m glad it will be hard.
Because hard means more dependence on God.
Hard means I will have to turn to Him more.
Hard means I will spend more time with Him.
Hard means I will talk to Him more.
Hard means I will listen for Him more.
Hard means I will be more thankful for the things I have.
Hard means I will appreciate the little blessings.
Hard means growth.
Hard means learning that He is all I need.
Hard is good.
God is good.
