I loved Kenya. I loved the people. I loved our ministry. I loved our location. I loved our contact.

The thing that strikes me, though, is my favorite moments. My favorite moments were in the little things. Those moments that are just normal:

Playing Uno with Kevin, our cook's son, 27 times in a row and seeing him smile in victory every time he won.

Chats with Elissa in the van while we sat in traffic that encouraged me and reminded me why I came on this journey, being inspired by her to live boldly for the Lord.

Asking Samuel, our driver, billions of questions and laughing because he is so plain vanilla (I mean, come on, his favorite color is brown), but knowing all the while there is no one I feel safer riding with in all of Kenya.

Listening to Sarah proclaim her faith in God daily and sharing with me the things He is teaching her.

Watching the sunrise in the morning… or getting up to see it only to have it be covered by clouds, but still being reminded of our great Creator.

Seeing Stella smiling from across the grass as she works her way to the tents to serve the Lord faithfully.

Yes, I will miss Kenya. I will remember each of those moments with joy and look forward to the little moments the Lord has for me this month in Uganda, then in Swaziland and South Africa. And I will be thankful for these little moments that He allows me to have. These reminders that even the little things matter.
