With Thanksgiving tomorrow and the Christmas season quickly approaching, homesickness has set in full force. I woke up this morning thinking of all the things I am missing at home and just wanted to be with my family, to help my Mom cook dinner for her favorite holiday, get a bear hug from Micah, hear my niece call me “Aunt Beth” and giggle as we play together, joke with my brothers, have girl time with my sister-in-laws, and hear my Dad preach at the Thanksgiving Eve service tonight.

And then God reminded me that I would be missing out on the INCREDIBLE things He wants to show me here. He reminded me that I have SO much to be thankful for:

Thankful for His amazing grace, which brought me out of my muddy, miry pit of sin.

Thankful for the 28 Thanksgivings I have spent with my family and all the memories to go with them.

Thankful for my amazing, supportive family who misses and loves me.

Thankful for my incredible team (family) who encourages me and lifts me up when I am down.

Thankful for our awesome contacts who are blessing us with a delicious Thanksgiving dinner and the kitchen to help cook it!

Thankful  that I get the opportunity to celebrate Thanksgiving with some incredible Nicaraguan women who have never celebrated it before.

Thankful that we will have a traditional Thanksgiving meal with turkey, stuffing, and pumpkin pie.

Thankful for this opportunity to see God at work all around the world.

Thankful that I am fully funded and for my friends and family who have supported me along the way.

Thankful for our all-powerful, Sovereign God and the selfless love He bestows upon me.

Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good. His love endures forever.
