Our first two days in Cambodia were spent in Siem Reap. Our team was able to visit Angkor Wat and the surrounding temples. It was an adventure! We saw the sunrise over the temple, climbed Victory gate, and enjoyed lunch at the market. We met a few girls that worked at one of the tourist markets at Angkor Wat—these girls come straight from school to help their families or “bosses” earn money at their stand. They were so precious, but it was a sad reality for me. They don’t get to explore and enjoy life like most little girls. They are expected to lure in tourists to help their families. I want you to pray for these girls—pray for their futures and their salvation!

My teammates arrived in the village on Tuesday and began ministry. However, I went to the capital with our Squad Leader to pick up our newest addition to our team: Huong! She is a racer from Vietnam that will serve alongside of us in Cambodia and Vietnam. It has been so much fun to introduce her to the WR culture and have her serve next to us.

We are in KamPhong Thom Province of Cambodia, about 3 hours north of the capital. We are working with Evangelical Mission Organization for Development.

They have a children’s home where they provide their physical needs, but also spiritual needs through nightly Bible study and worship time. Three days a week they also offer English classes for the children to attend.

If you were to hop in a Tuk Tuk, you would visit another ministry called Wings Home. This is a house for high schoolers and young adults that are studying, and if they were in their village, they wouldn’t have the opportunity to do so.

The last ministry that we are a part of is English classes at the university. These classes happen three days a week as well.
