This week in Mokhotlong, Lesotho has been full of excitement!

We went to the prison ministry here in town. We planned for worship, testimonies and prayer. I was one of the girls who shared their testimony at the prison. When we prayed into what to speak about, the Lord gave me the idea of darkness to light. One of my teammates also mentioned the song: “Into Marvelous Light.” Through writing down my testimony of rebellion and darkness, I was reminded of the hope and love that He has given me to redeem me into His light. The Lord also reminded me of the value of my story and how He has transformed my brokenness, and this is a beautiful way to show His glory. Although I use to believe that my story was boring or not worth sharing, the Lord has changed my mind—He has shifted my mindset to understand that every story reflects His love, no matter what our flesh sees as “powerful” or “moving.”

This week I have also seen how much willingness my team has to serve. I love working with these ladies—they are flexible and willing to pitch in wherever they can. Their attitudes at construction are always positive and encouraging. I have enjoyed seeing each of them step up and share their stories at different ministry opportunities (at church, at the high school, or the prison). And my team has loved each other well. We have been doing appreciation days this month—and my appreciation day was this week. The team was a blessing to show appreciation in a way that is fitting for me—they prayed over me, left notes all over, and also blessed me with a variety of gifts, including my favorite chocolate: Snickers!

I have been challenged to grow in leading this week. I’m learning how to rest and reflect on my personal journey. But balancing that with lifting up my sisters and coleaders and checking in with their personal journeys as well.

Two of my teammates, Tori and Victoria, have struggled with physical health. Colds and stomach bugs. We were in and out of the hospital with the two of them. Pray for complete restoration within their bodies and extra rest for them.

During this week, the squad spent some time together in prayer. We prayed into an area that the Lord wants our team to grow in. The word that the Lord gave me was “unity.” He shared that He desires to have our hearts focused on Him first and foremost before we will ever reach unity as a team. He is a jealous God and wants our affections. He desires our hearts to be submitted and surrendered to Him. He wants us to choose Him so that we have the capacity to love and serve others.

On Friday night at the Women’s Felloship, I spent time with a woman named Makibise. She sat next to me and we worked together to complete the activity. I loved seeing her eagerness for His Word and to reflect on how He has changed our identity as daughters. Her joy and excitement for life was moving.

Lastly, this week, we experienced rounds of snow and frost. It has been very chilly this week. However it is beautiful to see the snow on the mountaintops when we woke up each morning. As I reflected on the snow, the Lord reminded me of its purity. I was humbled at the reminder of how the snow resembles His refreshing spirit that washes us new every day—removing our sins and cleansing us for the new day with joy and mercy.

Prayers:

1. Outward focus: Serve and love others well instead of focusing on self and struggles that are occurring

2. Wisdom: Seek His voice and words instead of speaking out of my own knowledge; seek His word to learn and grow
