Welcome to Month 10!
Belize Basecamp
Belmopan, Belize
Our team, the Banditos, and another team, the Macho Nachos, are serving with the Belize Basecamp. We are doing a variety of ministry throughout the community this month.
Our first service project was to paint a house that is used to house missionaries. There is a family coming in from Africa that will be living there.
Our teams painted three of the outside walls and the trim of the roof. We also painted the three bedrooms and the living room.
It is amazing what fresh paint can do to a house!
On Sunday, we visited the church. It was an amazing service. I didn’t realize how much I had missed worshipping with a large congregation of believers, and in English. I knew the songs and I could follow along to the service. It was such a blessing to be shepherded that morning.
Our teams went to the Blue Hole to celebrate Tori’s birthday. The Blue Hole is a water hole that is created from an underground river, then continues to flow into a cave. It was a beautiful area to visit and enjoy swimming in.
On Tuesday, the Banditos went to the market area to pass out tracts. Callie and I partnered up and walked to a corner where the people walk through to go to work, attend school or visit the market. Although, we were skeptical of passing out the tracts, we were able to have conversations with several different people throughout our time there.
One man’s name was Noel. His speech was shaky and his actions nervous. He seemed like a scared puppy, lost and alone. And as he began to share his story, in fact, he was lost and alone. As a past criminal, his family deserted him. He is jobless and hopeless. His time in prison had created scars that were not healed.
Callie and I prayed for him. I asked the Lord to bring healing and forgiveness into his family—that they would extend their love to him instead of closing off their hearts. I asked the Lord to lead his steps to the job He would have for Noel so that he can provide for his physical needs (like food and shelter).
As he continued to hang out with us, I prayed that the Lord would heal the damage and the scars from his time in prison—that the wounds, whether social, emotional or physical—would be released from holding him in captivity any longer. I prayed for freedom and hope over his heart.

Belize has been a great country to serve in. Continue to pray for us:
1. To be led by the Spirit
2. Ask God to show up and show out
3. To love more
