Really? Month one is over?
Yeah basically.
We leave tomorrow for SAfrica. Here's a few facts about month numero uno.
1. This month sucked team-wise. I mean, we had some serious issues. God is still God and He is still good, though. Thank the LORD. whew.
2. Our food has consisted of fresh vegetables, good meat, rice, sedza (which is actually quite good), lots of beans (beanie weenies, even!), endless coffee and tea, CHOCOLATE, popcorn (so much love), pb&j, pb&b, apples, chocolate, coke, chocolate, fanta…need I say more? Hello incredible.
3. World Race alum make the best ministry contacts – I'm for real.
4. Wit and humor are honestly the best medicine.
5. Family doesn't necessarily have to be blood or even someone that you have known for a long time. Sometimes it only takes a second.
6. God will not only renew your strength, but will also renew your passions – even miles away.
7. Zesa (electricity) and water are never quite reliable, but when they are….one should ALWAYS spend time on Twitter!
8. Everything is fair game to be tweeted.
9. Instagram doesn't like internet at all. One must search for the perfect location to upload photos.
10. Tent living is the life.
11. Zim is awesome.
12. Babies at your host home make ministry much more exciting and fun.
13. I'm going to miss the heck out of this place. God has been so faithful in showing HIs love in so many people- in our incredible host family, but also in people around town..the volunteers at Tafara, GoGo Ingrid, sweet people from the church. He is endless and absolutely overflows in the people in this place.
I absolutely can't imagine another month being as awesome as this. Really. Jenni, Felix, Njiva, and everyone here are family and will be family from now until forever.
All of us are already planning future visits. =)
So, consensus: I love Zim.
p.s. FUNDRAISING UPDATE: I am right at $8,000 and need $11,000 by December 1. That's THREE thousand dollars that i need in about two months. Please consider donating by clicking on the link to the left!
