So I’ve been in Nicaragua for two weeks and it’s basically amazing. It’s gorgeous. Our contacts are really sweet and they love teaching us Spanish. The church is right across the road. We have a toilet and a shower. The food is phenom. We’re a 5 minute walk from Eskimo (the ice cream place) and the internet café. Literally, this is the life.

BUT, as we are all aware, this journey is coming to an end. Right now, if my calculations are correct, we are looking at 6 weeks and 4 days more of this 11 month journey. Depending on the day, I’m dying to get home and dying to stay here. For now, I’ve made a list of 10 things I am most excited for in the last 47 days of this journey. Enjoy. 🙂

  1. Becoming more conversationally fluent in Spanish.
  2. A constant diet of beans & rice.
  3. Seeing Pablo in Costa Rica (one of my dear friends that I knew all four years at Berry!).
  4. Adventures – including volcanos, lakes, the beach, zip lining, and who knows what else!
  5. Predictable weather (rain in the afternoons).
  6. Riding in Blue Bird buses and figuring out when/where they were made.
  7. Ice cream, even though it’s not my favorite.
  8. Big mountains and big skies.
  9. Memorizing a new town next month with new shop owners and people to know & share Jesus with.
  10. Seeing The Great Gatsby in theaters (I’m calling it. Costa Rica.)

In addition to that, I can’t wait to get home for these ten things:

  1. The Atlanta Braves.
  2. Adventure days at the lake.
  3. Zaxby’s, Sonic, and…. Okay, alright Chickfila, but not as much as the other two.
  4. My closet with my clothes and my shoes.
  5. A day at the spa & shopping with my mom.
  6. Haircut.
  7. My phone.
  8. Friends and family.
  9. My Kroger Plus Card.
  10. Goodwill, Gottwall’s Books, café’s and other thrifty places.

The whole world is full of fun.
