It’s almost midnight here and I was almost ready to lay down to head to sleep considering I am driving to Atlanta tomorrow morning for WR TRAINING CAMP but, God had different plans he keeps pressing on me to write about what happened during my past week camping. I’m currently still trying to process everything that went down on the 4th of July but here is a lil glimpse.
I went camping with a group of 10 racers from different routes from July 2nd-July 6th. On the night of July 4th was when I got to see what pure genuine love looks like. The sun was just starting to fall over the beautiful mountains that surrounded our campsite when a girl on my squad said to me “hey is that girl wearing a world race T-shirt” as soon as I got closer I recognized the girl (I followed her when she was on worldrace gap year) We all ran over and immediately started talking with Ky and Alyssa (WR Alum.) They were stoked to see us considering for some odd reason they had just decided earlier to make the 4 hour journey from Atlanta. While we were talking they told us their friend Nick (WR Alum) was on the other side of the mountain, so we all ran to him. They came back to our mini “tent city” campsite and just started sharing stories about the race. While I was boiling some water for coffee I looked over, tears streaming down my face at the beautiful picture in front of me. Ky praying with my friend, Nick sowing into a brother, and Alyssa singing worship songs with a sister. It was so amazing to see these people who we met just under an hour ago loving us as if we had known them for years. Seems weird right? Why would these people who have never met us be crying with us, praying with us or just plain hanging with us? To be Honest it wasn’t weird at all.. and to be real I felt the most peace I think I have felt in a long time. You see my friends there are no “coincidences” in this life we live, it is simply Jesus. He let those three people travel thousands of miles across the world just so they could be with us for a few hours on that mountain. I hope whenever you find yourself in a “coincidence” that you thank God and understand that he has you right where he wants you. Jeremiah 29:11 says “For I know the plans I have for you,”declares the Lord,”plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future” if we believe this verse, then like I said earlier there is no such thing as a “coincidence”.
Anyway, we finished up the night by having them pray over our lives and our upcoming journeys. At the end of Ky’s prayer I just looked around and saw freedom and pure joy in the eyes of everyone. GOD MOVED IN THAT PRAYER IN A MIGHTY WAY. In closing, when I think of what happened that night a verse comes into mind Romans 10:15 “And how can anyone preach unless they are sent? As it is written “How beautiful are the feet of those who bring the good news”. I am so happy God sent those three people all around the world just so they could do kingdom work on top of a mountain, Ky, Nick, and Alyssa you got some freaking beautiful feet!!!!
