Hey everyone!  I know it has been awhile since my last blog but I have actually been out of the country. I just got back 3 weeks ago. As you can probably guess by the title I went to Honduras.  Before I was accepted on the World Race I was already planning on going to Honduras with “Louder Than Words Ministries” from March 7th-16th  but God opened the door for me to stay for a MONTH and I said YES.

My time in Honduras was so amazing.  The first week, I backpacked through the remote villages  with a small group of Hondurans and North Americans.  In each village we distributed Operation Christmas Child shoe boxes, had a worship service, showed a movie on a small projector, and most importantly showed the love of Christ to everyone we came into contact with.  After a week, all of the team went back to the U.S. except for me.  I stayed with a few different families for the next 2 1/2 weeks. While staying with those families it was very difficult not being able to speak Spanish well and not having any familiar community, but  I had a great time learning to be dependent on God for comfort in situations when I don’t know what to do or what to say. On March 29th a team from my old school came to Honduras to serve on their Spring Break and I went to stay with them in a village for about 4 days. Everyday in that village I went out with the evangelism team (my favorite part of the entire month.) It brought my heart so much joy when someone accepted Christ and to know at the beginning of the conversation they didn’t know where they would go if they died, but by the end they knew they were alive in CHRIST AND THEY WERE GOING TO HEAVEN!  We left that village after 4 days and went back to the city for a few days. While we were in the city our team went to an all girls orphanage and the girls put makeup on all of us guys.  (haha) Sometimes you just have to look funny to get a laugh or two.  Once again after a week that team left and I was back at a Pastor’s house.  It was a blessing because this pastor spoke English.  During my last few days I got to go to an amazing church service and hang out with some wonderful new friends. (aka the best translators ever) My time in Honduras taught me so much.  I am still processing stuff day by day but the biggest thing I learned was the importance of knowing scripture and being able to apply it in different situations.

FUNdraising update: God is SO, SO GOOD!!!  He has provided $9,003 which means I ONLY NEED $6,797 TO BE FULLY FUNDED.

Thank you so much for your prayers and support so far!!!!!
