FOCUS… this word expresses the struggle I have been facing this past month. Getting accepted into World Race Gap Year was amazing and an answer to prayer However, since my acceptance I found it very difficult to focus on my schooling, my passion for missions is burning inside of me and I am ready to go! A bible verse that has been speaking to me throughout my struggles with schooling is Joshua 1:9 “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.” In this verse, I have peace that God is with me through my sufferings. In order to let God lead me, I had to surrender my thoughts that I could do school on my own and understand that I need him to help me. I have learned so much about hearing God’s voice in my first month of acceptance by spending more time in his word and journaling with him, and I can’t wait for what God is going to continue to do in me in preparation for this amazing journey.
