As 2019 is coming to a close, I’m able to look back on this year as probably the best of my life up to this point. I traveled to eighteen different countries, made life-long friends, had my faith shaken and grown like never before and saw God move across cultures, countries and circumstances.
This year challenged me in so many ways. I spent it in insanely close community; I hit low lows; I “survived” on a diet of just rice and ugali at times. Yet, I also hit highs unlike anything I’ve ever experienced. I saw God heal and save people in front of my eyes. I experienced cultures and this world like few people get to. I gained vision and passion for my life; and I’m so much better now thanks to all of it.
Really, to sum 2019 up, you could say it’s been an amazingly awesome, incredibly hard, painful, joyful year; one I wouldn’t trade for the world.
So, to wrap it all up, I want to say thank you.
Thank you to God for calling me to this life and providing and gently guiding me. For healing me and picking me up when I fell. For showing me what true life in the kingdom is like.
Thank you to my leadership and squad. You all are my family for life, and I love you so, so much. I wouldn’t have been able to do this year without you all.
Thank you to my family and friends back home for the support and prayers along the way and for keeping me up to date on what was going on back home.
Thank you to all of you reading this for the prayers and support you’ve given the squad and I. You may not know the full extent now, but your support matters more than I could ever put into words.
So, with that, my 2019 World Race with S-Squad is finished, but the work’s not done. There’s still more to do for God’s kingdom; it will just look different going forward now.
All praise, glory and honor to God for that.
God Bless!
-Ben
