Little kids running to me with arms spread wide open, crashing into me at full speed, as they look for a hug.

Laughing as our host tries to remember the ages of every one of his 11 kids; exclaiming, “Holy Spirit come!”

Buying new hot wheels for the little boy across the street who’s laugh is one of the most beautiful sounds I’ve ever heard.

Sitting in our living room as the whole team tries to figure out the bonus word in the 436th level of Wordscapes.

Practicing with the local football club at 6:30 in the morning, even though none of them speak English.

Watching the dim scenery roll by at 3:30a.m. while the rest of the team sleeps on our way to a safari.

Jumping and then rolling in laughter as a teammate twists a massive party popper open during dinner, getting confetti in every bit of food during a birthday celebration.

Hoping my ear drums don’t explode while the Sunday morning worship music blasts right behind me.

Finding peaceful contentment in sitting next to a pool with good wifi on a day off.

The stillness of waking at 5:45a.m. to go for a run through the Rwandan countryside.

Looking down at my dirty feet and wondering if they’ll ever be fully clean again.

Seeing the smile on a child’s face from just acknowledging that I see them.

I’ll remember our ministry and people this month for sure.

But really, these are the moments I’ll never forget

I can’t believe we’re leaving Rwanda this Wednesday already. This has been such a full, amazing, and growing month; and I’m so grateful to God for how much He’s blessed me.

Now, on to Uganda where we’ll spend a few days in the capital, Kampala, before heading to our host site in the central city of Lira. Please be keeping both travel safety and squad health in your prayers and also that God will prepare the way for our ministry in this upcoming month.

For now though, Rwanda, you’ll always have a place in my heart, and even though it’s gonna be so tough to leave, I’m very grateful that it is so hard because it means we’ve had an incredible month.

To put my own spin on a quote from the classic movie The Sandlot, “What you did gets remembered, but the little moments never die.”

See you in Uganda!

God Bless!
