“And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another – and all the more as you see the Day approaching.” Hebrews 10:24-25
I recently got back from an internship that had me traveling all over the east coast running junior golf tournaments. While the summer and that experience were great, God used that time to now show me just how important community and fellowship with other believers is.
Now, first of all, the people I worked with this summer were awesome, and I’ll remain friends with some of them for a long time. However, going three and a half months without that deeper community is hard. Looking back, I can see now the points in my life where I was/am weak, where I struggle(d), where I need(ed) that deeper fellowship, and my walk with Christ suffered.
That isn’t to say I totally rebelled. But, my growth stopped. I started to get out of good habits. The way I thought started to change. I wasn’t fully living my life the way God intended me to live it.
Since I’ve gotten back, I’ve jumped head first into the community that God has given me, and it’s so incredible to be in that fellowship where everyone’s pushing each other closer to Christ. And, as I now think about it, that’s one of the reasons I chose the World Race.
I want to experience God on a whole new level.
I want to see to Him move as I go through life with other believers. I want Him to shine through our community and fellowship so others will realize there’s something different about us. I don’t want to just go to church, I want our community to be His church, one that is continually growing.
So, as I and the other members of my squad prepare for training camp in a month and the World Race soon after, I ask that you would keep us in your prayers, and I also invite you to click the donate button and help make this vision possible.
Please feel free to reach out if you have questions or just want to talk about what’s coming up.
Thank You!
Ben
