Ever actually walk in someones shoes for a mile??? I’m sure I technically have before both literally and figuratively. In fact, I think it’s human to at least try…or feel like we ought to. How many of you looked through these pictures and chuckled a time or two at individual pictures for whatever reason? Go ahead and put your hand up if you did 🙂 This next year the group I am a part of will have the opportunity to look at life through a variety of perspectives…We most likely look at life through our own “glasses” most often as we are most comfortable with that lens…whether it’s tinted or not. However, we will also be forced to look at life through the lens of people we’ve never seen before and lives we’ve never known about. In return, we will assuredly give you glimpses into their lives through stories that will at times be raw, realistic, surreal, fictional or unbelievable. At that time, you will have the option of stepping into a world that we’re walking in to see the perspective of the people we’re living with or near from at least our perspective and hopefully a little bit of theirs too…

                                                                                                            HOWEVER

I ask you to not cheapen this and to check yourself as we are going to have to be constantly checking ourselves…It will be our temptation as it will also be yours, to settle for switching glasses this next year in an attempt to get a greater picture from numerous viewpoints…The irony is that glasses are used to compensate our lack of seeing correctly. The one who does see correctly is the One who also created and designed us and fashioned our hearts in His hands…We can gain a lot of earthly wisdom and perspective by changing glasses, but if we’re willing to bear the uncomfortableness of seeing things as they are, we must choose to take off our glasses and let our eyes adjust until they start seeing things the way He sees them...That kind of sight changes the world…starting with our own hearts…
