FIRST of all…I know I’ve been sending you a lot to read lately and actually have much more to say, but I’m going to attempt to add some more pics for you guys because I know that I’m much more inclined to read blogs that have pics added…so here is the start of my attempt!! If you’re going to read only one paragraph of this, please read the last one 🙂
I know there are other blogs up right now on the world race page that have to do with the movie Up and partially that is because we watched a clip this morning and the rest of it currently! As a small group, we discussed a number of things about what it means to live out the dreams that God has put within us. A friend made the comment the other day that the life you want to live is often found on the other side of obedience. There’s a thought to chew on!
Anyway, Up is a disney movie that is quite good and I suggest you watch it!!! However it made me think of a few things that I wanted to share with you. The main guy in the film eventually lived out the dreams he had as a child. Fulfilling these dreams added value to his

life but there was something, or rather someone, missing. His wife who was a childhood sweetheart had passed away after years of putting off pursuing their dreams. They let
all the expectations, requirements and responsibilities of life keep them living a life they dreamed of. This highlighted the fact that dreaming, pursuing and fulfilling dreams WITH others adds much value to your life.
However, even though he didn’t get a chance to go with his wife, he did have company that also added value to his life. This is where I am thankful that you have added value to my life by walking with me through various of steps of my life including this past year.
Mr. Fredrickson was an old man before he got the courage to face some fears and finally go and do something that was honestly beyond him. You are never too old to start living the life you were created to live…

Only the last pages of the “adventure book” found in this story actually dealt with leaving the city he lived in to pursue the adventure always talked about. The majority of the pages consisted of decades of life spent in the same house. You know what…sometimes the biggest parts of our story are years of stuff that doesn’t seem at all connected with fulfilling our dreams. Yet, somehow dots find a way of connecting and all of your steps once took and lessons learned, find a way to be useful again.
I have had an opportunity to fulfill many of the dreams I’ve had since I was a child. I’ve been in sports, became a teacher/coach, went to Africa/Alaska, saw much of the world, worked as a youth counselor among all sorts of other things. These things made me came alive and drew me into the next adventure but honestly dreams based on THINGS or POSITIONS will never satisfy. Inside each of us is an incredible dream to become the person we were created (on Purpose, with Purpose) to become. Pursuing the dreams of our heart provide a great opportunity to embrace the challenges that help us become like Him. Fulfillment is found in a life consisting of obedience, faithfulness, integrity and ULTIMATELY through His grace and Mercy.
