Man plans his ways but God directs His steps…
We don’t always know what will happen or where we’ll be years or months in advance and in my case days. If you’ve been following my little trek, you’ll know that I left Michigan a month ago to head down to Georgia and I’ve been in North Carolina, Alabama and Illinois since. In fact, I’m currently in Chicago and will be arriving back to Michigan later today. Early tomorrow morning I will be flying down to the Dominican Republic and will be there and in Haiti between now and March 1st.
Adventures In Missions has been actively pursuing the best way to help the Haitians now while providing a plan to help support them long term. AIM has been finding pastors, leaders and people that are trustworthy that are local. Our desire is to come under them and help them with the resources we have instead of coming in and just doing whatever we want. AIM is sending in medical teams, prayer teams, PR teams and an assortment of other teams. Part of my job is to get them in and hook them up with the right people who will be with them while they serve.
There is a border city that has been overwhelmed with refugees and underwhelmed (is that a word) with supplies and help. AIM has the go ahead to set up a base there and is starting to send teams immediately. They are also sending in a team to keep setting up ground work to start bringing in teams directly to the epicenter of the quake. I’m not really the one with all of the details on all of their plans but I wanted you to know that they do have a plan in place and they already have a number of people set in place. Part of what I will be doing is to make sure this all goes smoothly.
SO, what can you do?
Pray…I’ll be with a girl named Rebekah Gordon and we definitely be needing prayer for protection, favor, discernment, wisdom and whatever else He puts on your heart. I will be bringing my computer and hopefully it won’t crash this time down there. My intention is to keep writing about what’s going on so that you can keep up with it all and hopefully I’ll have more specific prayer requests for you.
