Team Luminous is currently in Nampula, Mozambique for the day at an SIL base. Tomorrow morning we will be at the bus station at 4 am to catch a bus from there to Pemba, Mozambique. We will be working with Roland and Heidi Baker at IRIS ministries. I’m looking forward to what He’s got to show us there!
Last year I worked at Cedar Campus which is one of the best places in the world. While there, I was a counselor for a girl named Maggie Jo. She was a 12 yr old girl (only child) who has been raised in Mozambique and happened to be on furlow last

year. During that week, I told her about the world race and the possibility of being in Africa. I told her that if I was ever in Mozambique, I would do what I could to come and visit her. Well, last week I had the opportunity to spend a couple days with her and her family in Milange, Mozambique on our way from Monkey Bay to Pemba. What a blessing!!! The Shrum’s work for Wycliffe translating the bible into local tribal languages. I have a video and hopefully some pictures to share with you the next time I get extended internet time (hopefully.)
Electronics…well, this has been an interesting year for me and electronics. It turns out that the rest of the world plays havoc with electronics. About a week into the World Race, my laptop decided to not turn back on. So I sent it home and my brothers blessed me with a small dell and an external hard drive. In Thailand, my big IPod decided to go bounding down a mountainside while I was hanging off of a truck that contained 40 people…So I bought a ghetto version IPod that was inexpensive in Vietnam. Unfortunately, while I can save stuff on there, it doesn’t really play music. Last month my external hard drive with everything backed up including thousands of pictures that I was hoping to get to you some year decided to not turn on. My beard trimmer is past being on the fringe now as well…However, God is good. The computer my brother sent didn’t pick up wireless for countries, decided to get infected by something (without ever getting online) and then fix itself today with little apparent reason. I finally was going to go through the steps my brother Jared sent me to fix it and at the start of it all it just froze up. When I turned it back on, it just worked. Praise God! So, I’m hopeful that someday I can restore my old computer and find a way to get the pics off of my external…until then, I will just keep lugging stuff around the world to figure it out later 🙂
Support…I am currently at $13,000 in support which means I am only $800 away from being fully funded for the year. You all have been more of a blessing to me than I can express and I am thankful for it more than you know. For those still considering helping me financially, I still need to raise the $800 and find a way to get home from NYC around thanksgiving. Talking of support, Mel, my team mate also needs about $2000 to be fully funded…by blessing her you would be a blessing to me!
Malawi…last month I was in Malawi and it was a beautiful place. God tends to be fantastic with His timing and I needed a month like last month like nobody’s business! Thank you for your prayers and I will be sure to devote some blogs to this past month.
I miss you all and look forward to seeing you again…be blessed and be a blessing friends 🙂
