So when was the last time you moved into a new house to find out that someone else was going to be consummating  their marriage in one of your rooms that very night?

I personally only have to go back in my memory to last night!

Since I have been down here again, life has been a bit of a whirlwind. After spending over a day straight flying and sleeping in the airport, I hit the ground running with a brand new team, vehicles breaking down in record proportions, meeting with staff both old and new, renting a longer term house, discerning what God is doing big picture wise, and trying to get everyone on the same page while fighting off a nagging sore throat and cold. Needless to say, there has been a bit of a business surrounding me and the staff that are down here. Regardless, God is always good and faithful and He showed His faithfulness over and over last week which has been such a constant source of encouragement.

Yesterday a team left and today another one arrives. We also shifted our main location from the back of Pastor Christian’s yard to a new “base” type location that is halfway between Pastor Christian and his church. For those of you who don’t know, he is a very well respected leader and pastor in the area that has been instrumental in connecting us with over 200 pastors and 1000 churches. Needless to say, we want to stay connected to him and be a blessing to what he’s doing while empowering the Haitian pastors and people.

We’ve been feeling quite a bit of resistance to everything we’ve been doing lately. Literally every day this last week we had at least one vehicle “break down” in one sense or the other. Thankfully we have all been safe and God has protected us and brought the right people around to help us each time. I’ve got some stories about this that are somewhat ridiculous if you want to hear them sometime ๐Ÿ™‚ Also, a HUGE meeting with a local mayor to allow us to get literal tons of food and supplies keeps getting postponed and we could use prayer to get that meeting done tomorrow and get going with that process! After that, there are just a lot of little things that keep happening that could separate our leadership staff and make them feel quite alone in this process. Please pray for unity and a healthy community amongst ourselves.

We moved into a new house!! OHH…and we found out that there was a honeymoon couple that was told they could stay here with us for the first three days of their new marriage. Good thing that isn’t awkward! Well, long story short, we provided a hotel room for them for the next two nights because we NEED to have all the space here and as few “distractions” as possible with all the teams coming through here. For more on that story, hit me up with an email sometime because it will make you shake your head ๐Ÿ™‚

Regardless of everything that has been going on down here that could distract or frustrate staff and participants, God has been good and things have been going well. The paths we often take are not the ones we often forsee ourselves taking but God has been directing our paths precisely to where He wants us. I hope and beleive that this new house will feel more like a home than our previous location. (the last location was actually a home, but I mean a home of our own and not as guests.)

I will be writing more to you all sometime soon but thank you for your prayers and I look forward to hearing from you ๐Ÿ™‚
