Sometimes I have selective pet peeves that really probably don't qualify as true pet peeves but I jump on my soap box and chatter away about them either way.
Lately, I've decided that I really dislike the delusion of putting "God in a box."
Have you even thought about what is meant when that is said?
The Creator of more than we know exists is able to be restricted to our boxes that we make for Him?
…and not when we accepted His invitation into His?
The only ones who could ever be in a box happen to be ourselves.
Sometimes we grow and knowledge, experience and life multiplies in our lives. When that happens our old box with it's old confines start to feel a bit snug and then uncomfortable. There is a realized tension in our lives where we feel bound by the structure we're living under…much like this kid below.
Coincidently, this looks like one of my brothers. Regardless, this is how a lot of people at this very moment feel inside.
Those parameters sometimes feel safe…If you can narrow your view of the world to yourself you might think you will have a better chance of finding a comfortable niche in which you can stay for awhile…
Yet out of His love for us, He allows those boxes to sometimes be torn down. Do you even know what your parameters are? Do you even know what structures you've put on your life?
How about the lives of your children or grandchildren?
friends?
neighbors?
gays?
muslims?
I'm not sure that I know a man without a box but I want to become one. The first step is to recognize what boxes I'm in…
I do know that it was for FREEDOM that Christ set us FREE…(bible)
You can be set free from your jail cell with an open door and you'll still be free…
but
you may never walk in freedom unless you walk out of that cell and then out of that prison.
…to be continued tomorrow…
