This month, we are working with a ministry out of YWAM.  We are staying at the University of Nations “campus” here in Phnom Penh and we are working with them in going out to kids in the slums outside the city.

This is our schedule:

Sunday

We do what is called “Kids’ Club.”  We go out to the slums and do a Sunday School type thing.  We sing songs, play games, do a skit, and share a Bible story.

Monday

House visits.  We mainly visit families that attend a cell group on Thursday, but we also visit some families who are not Christian to just share God’s love with them.  The Christians in Cambodia have got it right.  Christians here are very respected people because of the love they show, that is unless they come from a Buddhist family, then the family doesn’t usually associate with them.

Tuesday

We go to the same slums and do a hygiene day.  We wash their hair, clip their nails, clean any cuts or wounds they may have and teach them some on taking care of themselves.  We also do a preschool club which is basically the same thing as Sunday, skit, songs, and games.

Wednesday

This is a day when we encourage the staff that we work with.  We spend time building each other up and praying for each other.

Thursday

We have the cell group, which is a Bible study on this day.  After that, the girls go and learn traditional Khmer dancing and the boys go and learn soccer.

Friday

This is a day for the Khmer staff to support raise and do office stuff for themselves, so we have that day off

Saturday

Everybody’s off day!
