So we met a kid today. His name is Carlos. He was raised on the streets and is now 14 years old. I don’t know anything of his story, but he decided that he wanted to see what life was like off the streets for the first time today.
We took him to get a haircut. After that, we took him to YWAM’s home for kids right after they come off the streets. The kids stay there for a week to get used to living in a house before they are moved to the actual home.
While there, he had a shower, got a new change of clothes and also fed him a good meal. While some of us were cooking, the rest of the group played fuzzball with the kid. Fuzzball is really big here and the Bolivians are really good at it.
By the end of the time we had with him, he was smiling so much. After we ate, Larry, the guy in charge of this particular ministry, asked him if he wanted to come off the streets for good. Now, this was the first time Carlos had even come to this home, and it usually takes several tries before they actually come off the streets. Larry had known Carlos for two years and has been trying to get him off the streets, but apparently, Carlos had been in a government run home, and those are never good here. He has that block in his way of coming off the streets for good, and also the fear of persecution from those that sexually abuse him; its very common here for the older boys on the streets to sexually abuse the younger ones.
Carlos decided to go back to the streets, but seeds were planted that will come to fruition all in the time and plan of God. Please keep him in your prayers, that he would have a desire to get off the streets and that he would give homes a second chance. Thanks!

Carlos is the one in the back of the picture and he’s getting his hair cut.
