I had an entire blog written concerning asking for financial support as well as help sharing my blog in order to gain more support. But by the grace and goodness of God, I checked my account and I am nearly 99% funded! I have $16,075 out of the $16,256 we need to be fully funded! I have been so blessed by the Lord! I wrote about that more in my other blog, ‘My Cup Overfloweth.’
Having spent most of my race really being intentional about being present where I was at, fearing slightly about fundraising, but trusting in the providence of our Lord. It is so amazing and encouraging to see Him provide. I hope my story here will be an encouragement to all of you as well!
So if everyone who is supporting me with monthly or simply regular payments would please cease these contributions to myself, that would be greatly appreciated because personally I am nearly set for the remainder of my World Race!
Instead of a call for personal support, I would like to direct this blog towards a call for financial help at the ministry my Team is currently involved with and for the other 5 people on my team that are still in need of support: Tom, Rachael, Kaiulani, Katia, and Brooke.
My team, ‘The Fellowship,’ is working at a ministry in Blantyre, Malawi with a Pastor Ghent who has an awesome ministry called Bethel Chapel Missions, but is in need of Bibles in the native language of Chichewa. He has multiple churches started that are held in makeshift church buildings, made of trees and sack cloth bags sewed together and used as walls. But his problem is that he can share the gospel with people and bring them to Christ through showing them love and compassion, but most families do not have the available funds to purchase Bibles of their own and so churches are left with 2 or 3 Bibles for anywhere between 30 and 75 people. Pastor Ghent very much believes that his ministry greatly suffers because of the lack of allowing people to be in the Bible after their interest in Christ is sparked.
We are in the process of trying to gather funds in order to buy Pastor Ghent Bibles in Chichewa. His desired goal would be to have nearly 2,000 Bibles, but our team’s personal goal is to be able to give him 500 Bibles by the time we leave for Zimbabwe! Each Bible runs right around K 5,000 which translates to around $11. So we believe that with the help of God as well as your help, we can be able to raise $5,500 for these Bibles!
Pastor also expressed, and we experienced their need for more facilities at their already poor church. This need can be somewhat met by purchasing chairs for their use instead of them having to pay to borrow them for every service or meeting. They cost around $9 per chair.
So! Our plan is to try to raise $6,500 USD in order to purchase 500 Bibles in Chichewa and 100 chairs for his church. The first $5,500 we raise will be exclusively used to purchase the more important Bibles, and then any money we raise after that will be used for purchasing the chairs!
We will be using a Go-Fund me account to gather the donations. http://www.gofundme.com/k46epg We leave Malawi on January 29th, so we need this money donated by the 25th so we have time for it to transfer and then purchase the Bibles and chairs.
We trust that if the Lord is with us, nothing is impossible! So $6,500 USD in nearly 12 days is very possible with the Lord! But Share, Share, Share!!! Share this with everyone you know and help us reach our goal!
Thank you and God bless! http://www.gofundme.com/k46epg
