Was it hard to leave the race? Oh yeah!

Would you do it all over again? In a heart beat!

The world race wasn’t just 11 short term mission trips for me. It was boot camp. It was painful at times and yet, so rewarding. It showed me areas of myself that I didn’t even know were things that needed to be refined. It was an eleven month journey of truly discovering who God is to me. The question was asked, “Will I keep Him in a box?” I am happy to say that at the end of my eleven month journey God is no longer in the box where I had him.

He is as vast and as wide as the sea.

He is constant. Steadfast. Faithful. Sovereign. Merciful. Just. Loving. Gracious. Infinite.

The list can go on and on and still God is bigger than any of the words I can describe. My squad was not a bunch of random people looking for adventure in Latin America. Each one was hand picked by God to embark on this journey. He knew that we needed each other to help us get through the good times and the bad. He knew and still knows where each of us will end up in the next 11 months of our lives. The challenges and celebrations that we encountered may not make sense when we tell the stories but we will do our best to set the scene.

There are so many things that I am thankful for this year. Just the opportunity to go on the World Race was a huge blessing. Thank you, thank you, thank you to all of my beautiful supporters. This would have never been possible without your faithfulness and dedication to give until the end. I can’t find the words to thank you enough. I hope that my life is a reflection of the gratitude that I feel towards each one of you.

The adjustment home has been interesting. I’m trying to take one day at a time. I don’t want to compare things to how they use to be or what they have been like for the past eleven months. Let me tell you…it’s harder than I thought. My friend’s uncle gave her great advice.

Be thankful about something every day.

I am so thankful for my bed. It literally was like sleeping on a cloud.

I’m thankful for the heat in my room and for cozy blankets.

I’m thankful for hot water in the shower.

I’m thankful to get to hang out with my friends again and catch up over a cup of coffee or attend one of our favorite traditions in Kansas City, the Mayor’s Christmas Tree Lighting.

I’m thankful to have my closet back.

I’m thankful for my beautiful family and the thanksgiving meal that they prepared this year.

I’m thankful to be able to worship with my church family.

There are so many things to be thankful for and I choose to look at each of them with a grateful heart and thank my heavenly Father every day for his continued faithfulness and love for me.

Thank you for following my journey. I hope you stick around for the next portion of my life…CGA (center for global action). I feel like God is calling me into a season of worship. I will be attending CGA to become better equipped as a worship leader and to learn more about ushering in God’s presence on a daily basis.

I am still fund raising for CGA. I am still in need of $1,720 to start the semester on January 26th.

I have seen God provide $13,500 in 7 months. If he can provide that large sum, I know that he can and will provide the $6,950 for the eight months of CGA. He never fails and is always on time!

If you are able to help me reach this deadline financially, you can do so by clicking on the ‘support me link’ on the left hand side of this page and give.

If you can’t give financially, your prayers are treasured and greatly appreciated.

Thank you for helping me walk in the calling that God has given me.
