There are only 14 days left until CGA starts. Wow, has time flown by.

Being at home has been wonderful! I’ve been working part time, enjoying time with my family and friends and trying to prepare for this next season of life.

I was listening to a sermon called Find Your Flow by Pastor Steven Furtick of Elevation Church. The whole sermon was incredible but there were a few things he said that really stuck out to me.

“You can’t fulfill your calling in your comfort zone.”

“All blessings flow from God, but they flow through you!”

Being at home, I’ve had a lot of time to think. Too much time. The kind of thinking that could talk you out of something. I’ve enjoyed being back at my home church and being around the young adults and reconnecting with everyone again. It would be so much easier to stay. To get involved on the worship team, slip back into ministry roles, sign up for small group, etc. I hate to say this but I was actually starting to consider it.

Why?! Because it’s easier. It’s comfortable. It’s familiar.

As I was listening to the sermon by Steven Furtick I thought, “Man, I can’t believe I almost tried to talk myself out of this.” Now don’t get me wrong. I wasn’t trying to talk myself out of the calling that I believe the Lord has given me, but I was trying to talk myself out of having to leave, again, to receive more training. I was trying to take control and do it my way, to figure out how I could make it easier. Yet, as we all know, the easiest way is not always the best way. Those trials and tribulations, that you may have to go through when you step out of your comfort zone, are worth far more than any easy way out or simple plan that you may think of.

Although it seems like the easiest option, I know that I wouldn’t be properly prepared. I want to be fully equipped to do the work that God has called me to. I want to receive proper training, to immerse myself in a culture of worship, to be mentored by people that have already walked through these things, to be pushed out of my comfort zone and into the fullness of the calling God has for me. I’m not going into this half-heartedly, I am going to give my all, fully surrendered and watch God do the rest.

I believe that God is full of blessings but as Pastor Steven said, “All blessings flow from God, but they flow through you.” Will you let God use you? Will you allow his blessings to flow through you?
