That’s the countries slogan and I love the symbol they have to go with it.
We finished out strong in Peru. God spoke some things into my life that I hadn’t even thought would ever be a possibility. It was so awesome to hear how he wants to use me to further his kingdom, it is one of those things that you hear about but you don’t want to focus on it because you are choosing to stay present with where God has you right now. So that’s how I left Peru with so many questions for The Lord but at the same time, an amazing peace about where he’s taking me next.
We are staying in Quito, Ecuador this month. The staff at Inca Link are hosting us this month. They have been so loving and accommodating. They have truly become like family to me. It makes it a lot easier when I start to miss my family and friends.
Our ministry this month is with a church called Vision Mundial Para La Familia (world vision for the family). We are working with this church to reach the people of Ecuador. The pastors are from Chile and they have 3 beautiful children.
They have had some hardships as a church. They have lost a lot of members lately to other churches. So as a team, we have been preaching, sharing our testimonies, and helping pass out tracts to people on the streets. We have quickly formed friendships with the young adults at the church. They are a fun group of people.
For one of our days of ministry, we sold clothing on the side of the road to help our ministry hosts raise money to renew their Visas to stay in Ecuador. We had a lot of clothes and we were only selling them for $1/piece. We prayed that God would bless our efforts and he did! He provided $200 in just a few short hours. It was such a wonderful miracle to be apart of and we are trusting that God will continue to provide the remaining balance for them.
We are having so much fun in Ecuador with our ministry this month. They are so warm and loving. I can’t believe that we don’t have very much time left with them. I’m so thankful for what God has done and has been doing thus far on the race. I’m excited to see what He has in store for the future.
God has been teaching me so much about myself this month. I preached in our Sunday service a couple weeks ago. I hadn’t prepared a sermon since high school. I was nervous but I knew that God had given me a word for the church. The sermon went well. The Holy Spirit showed up and took over. God has been teaching me that when I rely on Him, He always comes through. I’m reminded constantly of Phillippians 4:13 “I can do all this through him who gives me strength.” I’m excited to continue growing into the woman that God has called me to be. It is frustrating and painful at times but the end result is always worth it.
