Travel day started like those before it, early flight, tired eyes, and multiple trips to the bathroom. Once we were through security, we began to rest our eyes and coast. Suddenly it was 12:30 and a gate change had caused 30 of us to miss our flight to guatemala from Colombia. The feeling of “ah crap” began to set in as we went through customs. We then proceeded to sit in the entrance to the bogota airport for many hours. As leadership tried to figure out what to do we mostly sat in confusion. We soon found out that we would not be able to fly to Guatemala that day. So as day turned to evening we continued to wait, sure that we would need a hostel. Then God said “ I got this”. Avianca, the carrier we flew with, gave us tickets for free, but it would be on 3 different flights, so we would still need a hostel. Then a squad member said that she had a family friend that would take all 30 of us in for 2 nights, talk about God showing up big time. Our Colombian hosts were beyond amazing, they provided food, and one of them even showed us around Bogota. And when the time came to leave they made sure we got to the airport safe and sound. The next flight went off without a hitch and we arrived safely in Guatemala.

Thank you God
