September 23rd-27th
Hey all!! What a week!! I honesty can’t believe it is our last week here in Quito!! I had the privilege this week to bounce between four different rooms at Camp Hope!! On Monday I was in the patience room. Let me start by saying, it is not the joy room! It is the complete opposite actually. It is the high functioning room and it was a blast. I had the opportunity to work with Anna and she is amazing and loves this room! She was able to show me the ropes and ease me into it for the day! It was an electric day, filled with laughter and tons of excitement! Tuesday, this was by far one of the best days of the week!! I was back in joy, I changed a few diapers and did tons of PT! One the way home, we decided to take on mother nature herself. Welppp, let’s just say we lost. We saw that it looked like it was going to rain and decided to go for it and try to walk home. We got about 5 minutes into our 20minute walk home, when God decided we were going to take a nice cold shower. It honestly was so much fun, we were tired and soaked. We jumped in puddles and sang our way the rest of the way home! A nice warm shower, a cup of hot chocolate, and a fire (thanks Matt) was the recipe for a great night! The hardest and most challenging day of my week had to be Wednesday! I was in Self-Control, this is a room where each student is very high functioning. They make crafts and bake, both are sold by Camp Hope! Those of you who know me, know. Crafts and Baking are NOT my strongest quality. It was a day that tried and tested me, to almost a breaking point. I had to remind myself that God is greater and I am here to serve. The highlight of the day, had to be the fiesta for those who had birthdays in the month of September! We danced and ate!! It was a day that pushed me and I thankful for it! On Thursday, I was in Love! After how hard and mentally exhausting Wednesday was, God knew exactly what I needed! He knew I needed a day cuddling and doing PT exercises with the babies! I fell in love with the boys of this room! At one point, I had three little boys laying on me sleeping. It was so pure and everything I needed. I get the questions a lot, how is it being the only guy? How is it living with 20 woman? After Thursday, it was a lot easier to answer, I got some quality bro time, with the littlest of souls. It was so refreshing and there hearts are so pure and innocent! On Friday, I was back in Joy! I was back with my homies and I was super thankful! It was a week that pushed me and I heard things from God that confused me a bit! I am still trying to figure out exactly what he said, but I know he is faithful. I know he will provide answers for me in due time! Thank you to all who read this!!
To all of you reading this, thank you. I ask for prayer for my team and for my squad! I ask for prayer that we continue to try and understand Spanish. I ask for prayer for all of my new pals I have meet at Camp Hope. I ask for prayer for Camp Hope and each child of God that they get to bless daily. I also ask for continued prayer for Pan de Vida and the work they are doing there. Thank you and God Bless.
