This month I was in Bolivia and even though people on my team were sick, ministry was difficult to engage in with the intentionality we wanted, and we had no set plan really for the entire month, I had time to think and talk to God about some stuff on our many bus rides and Land Cruiser trips. So if you want a quick read here they are…

1. God will willingly make life suck so that you need to rely on Him for strength and perseverance. (I know we’ve all heard it a thousand times but it still sucks when it happens.)

2. God constantly gives us little surprises of things we love, we just need to look for them and recognize that they are from God. (Riding on top of a Land Cruiser for 5 hours staring in amazement at God’s creation.)

3. If a team of random, different individuals choose to come together with Christ at the head and decide to support each other when they are hurting or struggling, amazing things can happen. (All of us at different points for one another.)

4. A small self sacrifice to make something a little more convenient for someone else can mean the world when all you have is each other.

5. No matter how busy your life is or what your schedule looks like you can always find time to spend with God. (Our month, in all honesty there isn’t an excuse for not spending time with the creator of the Universe, nuff said.)

6. As always, people are worth more than stuff no matter what it is, and what is the point of having anything if you don’t share it.

7. God’s kingdom is so huge and massive it doesn’t matter who that person is, if they are chasing after God with everything that they have then they have an established place serving God. It doesn’t matter how much they get on your nerves or how different they are or how much they might be different from you, it is your job as a child of God to love them, your brother or sister in Christ. Why? Because any senseless fighting or any unwillingness to build each other up or support each other in every way is a hinderance to what God can do in both of your lives and the lives of those around you.

Basically God can and will do what he wants and its for your benefit, appreciate God and what He does for you, and always be building up and supporting those around you, push them to run after the Kingdom of God and if someone or God is pushing you, chase after Him with everything you have. The church as one body running after God is something the entire world and all the powers of satan can’t stand against. So as members of said church it is our duty and our joy to build each other up and support each other in our walks/runs/adventures with God.

Simple as that.
