A little under a month ago we left Bangalore, India.
It was a month I’ll never forget with memories that I will keep with me for a
life time. I made friends that I know I will meet again in this life and the
next life to come…

A couple days later after spending some time in
Hyderabad for a  debrief, than flying to New Delhi for a transfer, we finally
arrived in Kathmandu, Nepal. We met our contact (Daniel) within an hour of
landing and the following day after a six hour ride through the Himalayan
mountain range we arrived at our final destination in Nijgadh, Nepal. Nijgadh
is a small village located in the south of Nepal within the Bara District. This
village found within the plains of Nepal, a short distance from the Himalayan
mountain range, is teaming with life. The fields are full of workers, kids are
playing in the dirt roads and trails, animals roam the neighbourhood, and
despite it being quite secluded there’s always a symphony of noise from the groaning of
water buffalo to the constant yelps from the old man next door.

Life here in the village has been fantastic and it
has been an absolute honour to work alongside GEMS (Gospel Echoing Missionary Society)
Nepal. During our time here we’ve been preaching, teaching in the Gems Nepal
English School, doing VBS’s for the neighbourhood kids, gardening and
landscaping work, and simply spending time with the inhabitants of this
village. I’ve loved every minute of it here and I’m going to be very sad to
leave in just a few short days.

God Bless you all and I’m praying for all of you.
It’s hard to believe that I’ve been on the field for six months and in just
five more months I’ll be in my homeland of Canada. In all honesty, I’ve felt at
home this whole time…

Sincerely,

Ben Gagne
