We were asked to write a blog about how we felt before leaving on this mission trip. Here is what we are expecting…
Michele: I expect to be completely blown away! 🙂 I am excited to see God work through our lives and in the lives of others! I expect to be stretched in my faith and find out to what part of missions God has called us. I love the beauty and variety in all of the wonderful peoples God has created! And I love to travel! For all of those out there that know and love Dave Ramsey–I am the nerd in the relationship and I am so excited that our trip has a budget! 🙂 Ok, I think I am rambling now. To get back on track–I expect God to get me completely out of my complacency and selfishness. I expect God to show me how I can be a help to others. I expect to even have some bad days, but I expect God to give me His strength in my weakness. This is going to be AMAZING!!!!! 🙂
Ben: I expect to have the best and worst times in my life–any enjoy every minute of it 🙂 I know that God will use this experience to make us more like Christ. I think that we will have a lot of struggles, and I know that we will persevere and overcome them through Christ. I expect to have a totally awesome time! I am so looking forward to the people, the places, the hiking, the scenery, and the ministry. I fully expect that God will do awesome things through us and for us. I expect to be humbled and lifted up. I think it will be like a roller coaster: lots of highs and lows, really fast, and making me say “Again!” when it’s over.
