The first month of ministry is now over and done. We have left Colombia and headed out to Quito, Ecuador. To be honest the first month was hard and not necessarily a time where I had a lot of fun.

But I am slowly learning what it is to put all of my comfort into our heavenly father. I learned that that is hard for me because I am the type of person who needs a physical comforter.

I have learned to trust in the Lord and that he will put me only through what he knows I can handle. Don’t get me wrong there were definitely times in Colombia where I experienced the joy and grace of God. For example; when I went paragliding over top of the whole city of Medellin, or when I would play soccer with the kids in Manantiales, or when we had a huge concert and church service for the refugee community and I got to see both cultures singing the same worship songs in their respective languages. In that moment, I learned that our God is one that covers all nations. No matter where we come from we all have the same creator and are all offered eternal life through him. On the other hand in the moments when I was missing my family or learning how to live with 45 other people in one house, that is when I learned that He is the only one to draw strength from. I am thankful for Colombia, the good and the difficult times and for all that that lovely country taught me.

 Off to Ecuador…

QUITO ECUADOR

You are so very pretty. We are staying at a beautiful house called Casa Blanca. Our host is a lovely couple named Mabe and Fabi. My team has been blessed with the opportunity to teach high school English in the local area. I am extremely excited for this because we will get to create relationships with the youth of Ecuador and connect with them and see how they differ from the youth of America. So ministry this month takes me back to school… we start on Monday and get on the bus at 6:40 with a sack lunch that Mabe will have packed us. Wish me luck as I have never been a kid that likes school, but I think this experience will be a different one.
