We drift on endlessly towards vast lands, temperate skies and nomadic people. The farther we beat on toward the distance the greater sobriety of the air. She is pure, clean and unadulterated. Her breath invites a garden of innocence. I advance, my eyes forward at the evolving horizon. The Local village woman stair at me. It is a fleeting interaction. One is trying to make out the color of my skin, another the generosity in my eyes. Am I friend or foe?

I can imagine the transition from her daily routine, walking to a near by water well and then back home to her playful children awaiting her presence, halted by a van that passes suddenly transferring the weight of unfamiliar cargo. We fade away from each other, perplexed and astonished.

The soil is rich and bronzed. The mountains become ever more illustrious and triumphant. We stop at a waterfall in astonishment that such a thing exists. Back home the beauty of such a landmark would be fragile, monopolized and exploited. Here it is mundane and untouched by human affluence. I feel natures embrace.

Eyes forward again, we carry on our long journey towards civilization. Departing from the innocence that has already taken root in my soul makes me uneasy. I look up and scan my eyes for anything to hold onto. Anything to insure my spirit prospers, and continues to grow in the freedom that I experienced by the waterfall. I see a road that bends toward the river and also straight ahead, as if the river is its natural guide. The feeling of admiration overwhelms me.

Look at the photo below and visualize the Holy Spirit as the ever flowing river, a constant spring of counseling. Now imagine the Road, symbolic for your path in life, paved by your fathers hands. The will of God. Psalms 111:7 “The works of his hands are faithful and just; all his precepts are trustworthy.” You are given the freedom to walk, to wander to stray or to be guided by the author of life. You are created to enjoy, and embrace. To live among nature and rule over it. (Genesis 1:26)

In life we may stray from the river but our father whom loves us will, will move mountains to bring us home. I am proof. Remember Child of God the lengths the lord will go to, to grab your heart. Remember the length he has gone: He sent his son to atone for our sins and bring us back into unity with him. It says in scripture that the lord has prepared a house for us, we each have a invitation to his banquet. A relentless love seeks our face. (Psalms 23)

The road of life is like a current of uncertainty, we never know what lies around the next bend. We can however press into truth, and in doing so let go of our desire for control. I believe that a life lived for Christ is a life nurtured in a security of the unknown. In my own spiritual life, the Lords ever presence within me and before me negates my hesitation to walk in blind faith. When our foundation of life is a relationship with Elohim, we can trust that his promises always endure, Mathew 28:20 “And remember, I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
