Writing blogs is becoming harder and harder as God’s work here amazes me and leaves me speechless every day. Not a bad problem to have!!
In the past week, we have traveled from our first location working on a missionary school and sanctuary in Los Chiles to our new site in Puerto Viejo. Our challenges have changed from being pelted by bugs while cleaning up from dinner to contemplating how exactly we’re going to wash our sweat-saturated clothes. Our blessings, however, increase by the minute.
Our team is full of encouraging, intentional, God-fearing girls and I find it hard to believe that my rocks are people I’ve only known for two weeks!
We’ve gotten to work in three different churches and experience worship in my favorite language: Spanish!
We’ve gotten to have a couple beach days at both Jaco and Playa Negra; two oceans, unending beauty!
We’ve gotten into a fairly regular schedule and been vulnerable with our hearts and stories to God and one another.
But in all of this, I have learned that the worries I fear and even the joys I experience are all forming to His Universal mission when I hand it to Him.
The things we once took for granted are now new blessings we have come to appreciate. He has opened our eyes to the struggles of life around the world. And still he cares about our hearts; each soul, individually and intimately, just as much as the next.
John 16:33
“In this world you may have struggles. Take heart, I have overcome the world.”
Each morning during quiet time and again at the end of the day, I pray a new prayer and listen. Over and over he shows me his vision: a world of people worshipping him. And that, in the hardest and sweetest moments, gives my heart so much comfort.
Thank you so much for all of your prayers! They are so evident and I can’t wait to share each story with you in person in two short weeks. Please continue to ask for strength and renewal that we may share with those around us as we step into another (our last full!) week of unknowns.
With all the love & gratitude,
Bella
