5.) What’s the one thing you have learned about yourself since living in constant community?

 

Annalise 

1. Meeting my BFF Gugu, and sending each other letters back and forth. 

2. I miss my brothers, my friends, and I miss my bed. I also miss having a washing machine and Chic-Fil-A

3. Getting a shocked look every time I tell someone that I don’t have any children. 

4. Swazi beef, rice, and pot bread. 

5. umm.. freak I don’t know.. oh umm.. stop writing every single word down… oh living in patients with forty-eight other people who have a different background than you.

 

Bekah 

1. Cooking a traditional Swazi meal with the Gogo’s

2. Having my own private space, and alone time. 

3. Riding in a Kumbi with twenty-two other people. 

4. Definitely the coleslaw with the pot bread, and the butternut squash. 

5. That I NEED alone time in order to function normally.

 

Jordan

1. Dancing with the kids on the new playground when it was raining.

2. I have a list…. umm… there are so many things… I would be a turd if I didn’t say, my family and friends. But I really miss iced coffee.

3. When the Gogo (cooks) ties a baby to my back. 

4. The pot bread, with squash and sweet potatoes, and cream. With pop and the Swazi beef broth. 

5. I like being around people more than I thought. 

 

Sarah J.

1. Being able to lead the song ‘It is Well’ during worship. 

2. Alone time I don’t know I have a lot… I also miss driving my car and riding my horse. 

3. Well, I felt pretty African after I loaded a truck with firewood and then road back on the back of the truck through the bush of Africa.

4. Umm… the cole slaw with butternut squash and the pot bread with the Swazi beef.

5. I am an introvert. I thought I was an extrovert my entire life. But being around so many people I realize I desperately need alone time. 

 

Sarah W.

1. I have so many… I’m gonna blurt them out and you can just write down whatever. Okay… I liked dancing in the rain, going to David and Jenna’s house (our ministry host) cutting Bekah’s hair, and the worship class. 

2. My family, my car, and Chic-Fil-A.

3. African church or the walk to ministry when we take the shortcuts that the Gogo’s showed us.

4. The beef stew, pot bread, and the cole slaw.

5. I really enjoy it, and I learned that earplugs are my best friend. 

 

Sophie

1. When all the stars came out and we were sitting out on the poop deck looking at them.

2. umm.. thing wise driving person wise my sister.

3. Getting proposed to at the grocery store.

4. The homemade bread and beef stew, you have to dip the bread in the beef stew. 

5. You have to make time to have quiet time with the lord.
