The first month of the race is complete! Life in Nsoko Swaziland is slow and peaceful. I am staying on a compound with the rest of my squad. The rooms we are staying in are not finished so it’s a constant construction zone. We don’t have electricity, and the nearest wifi is a 20 min drive away. The showers are cold, and the days are super hot, but that being said I am thriving here.

I start my days at seven with some quiet time with Jesus, then the entire squad has morning devotionals that start at eight, after that we have breakfast that consists of two hard-boiled eggs and a scoop of oatmeal. (we eat this every single morning yummy) At around nine thirty we head out to our care point (Mahangeni) we have an hour walk there. I am starting to love the walk to and from ministry, the views are gorgeous and my teammates and I get some good quality time. For lunch we get PB&J at this point I’m pretty sure I have eaten my body weight in peanut butter. But dinner is amazing twice a week we get a traditional Swazi meal.

Days at the care point look a little differently each day. Tuesdays we teach a lesson to the children this usually consists of a Bible story. On Wednesdays, we go out into the homesteads and evangelize to the children’s parents and anyone else we might run into. Thursdays we help our shepard (Bongiwe) with paperwork and grading. Finally, on Fridays, we have a fun day of playing with the children, and building relationships. Saturday is my sabbath a day to rest and just relax, on Sundays we go to a traditional Swazi church that last around three hours. The rest of the day we have time to rest and go out and do street evangelism. On Mondays, the care points aren’t open so those days we spend doing some type of manual labor around the compound.

The weeks are flying by but I feel so full and love seeing God working through my team, and the rest of my squad mates. Thank you to everyone who has prayed and supported me financially. Please continue to keep me in your prayers!
