“Here on earth you will have many sorrows and troubles. But, take heart for I have overcome the world.” John 16:33.
How come tragedy, evil, and horror are alive and active at the same time as an alive an active Savior?
Wouldn’t it be so wonderful to have heaven on earth. How I wish this could be true today. Until that day, hope is here. Jesus has overcome the world! John 16:33 states that in this world, we will have trouble. Tragedy and sorrow will come our way. I am saddened by this thought. Then I am reminded of the hope and everlasting Father who is hand in hand with us. Still, this question remains. Have you ever had this question too?
John 16:33 explains that our world is outside and extraordinarily far from God’s design. In the beginning, God created our world in His image. He delighted in His masterpiece and hovered over it and smiled upon it. I picture the gaze of a loving Father as God made our world. Then, the fall came. His beautiful creation and children had chosen to be separated from Him in a trick of the enemy. In that moment, our loving father and child bond with our God had been broken. By choice. How heartbreaking. In all God’s love for us, He sent His one and only son to come mend what was broken. How He loves us!
Jesus came, died on the cross, carried the weight of our sin, and gifted us the greatest gift of all! An eternity with Him that begins the moment we allow Him into our heart! Heaven meets earth.
Christ is risen and is here! He is here with us in a broken world. Peace and joy are available to us through our love from Christ. Our loving father and child bond is here, the promise of the Holy Spirit who has made His home in our hearts. In beautiful times and in tragic times, we have a save haven in our heavenly father. Though our world is far from God’s design, take courage! Jesus promises to not abandon our struggles. In the most troublesome of times, Jesus brings everlasting peace and joy! Joy that surpasses all understanding. May God bless you dear friends! Take heart for He has overcome the world!
