Hola from Ecuador!

“I am going to carry you across the finish line.”
These words brought so much peace to my soul. For the past couple months I have been praying to sprint across the finish line. To run the race with all my might. A couple days ago, I heard God speak those words to my heart, so softy and so tenderly. I could picture God holding me in His arms bridal style and carrying me slowly and steadily across the finish line. Both of us with teary yet joyful eyes.

The mission field is so beautiful. So beautiful and so challenging. The challenge is beautiful too because it brings me closer to Jesus in so many aspects. In relying on Him everyday, in seeing His heart for the lost and the abandoned, to experiencing His peace and presence in scary moments.

It is so beautiful to see and be friends with the followers of Jesus around the world. To see the smiles of children running with all their might to say hello, to see the family who has little give their treasures away, to see the joy of God radiate through a village, to see the depths of beauty and the depths of tragedy in the world.

I write this to remind myself of how beautiful it is. How worth it, it is to follow Jesus. To say yes even when you are weary. I believe after ten months of being so far away from those I love at home, being in intense environments, and walking into my fear more than I thought I could bear, I need to remember how beautiful this journey is and how beautiful it is to say yes to God.

To remember how beautiful it is that God is carrying me through. Since the beginning of time. How amazing to not have to provide my human strength, yet rest and walk beside the Father who loves me so deeply. A love I am not even fully able to understand. With all that, I am so thankful to be carried by God all the days of my life and into eternity. His plans and ways are so amazing and intricate.

Thank you so much for reading these thoughts! This month we are in Quito, Ecuador! Our ministry this month is partnering with a pastor and his family to build the foundations of a new church plant in South Quito. It is coming up really nicely!

We got to write bible verses and prayers on rocks and place them under the cement of the foundation. I loved that so much. After building, we meet at the pastors home where children come in the afternoons to have help with homework and spend time together!

The pastor and his family are so wonderful and full of joy! Always smiling and giggling! Another family we are so blessed to spend time with is Patricio and Susanna and their two children. This family is so kind, loving, humble, and so open to share their passions, thoughts, hardships, and dreams. They have three dogs named Jules, Monster, and Keisha! They are so adorable! In three days, we will be heading to Colombia!

Thank you so much for your love, encouragement, and support!
