So, I wanted to share about my week at the beginning of the month with my mom. But I wanted my mom to share what she experienced.
So I had her write a blog about her time at PVT!

PVT–from my mom’s eyes:
“Wow, I am so blessed that God gave me the opportunity to spend 5 days with Bekah & other amazing racers & their parents. I know I have made friendships that will last a lifetime. When I went to launch in Atlanta I really didn’t have any idea what to expect in the next 11 months, but is has really been amazing. Bekah has been on the World Race but I have been on a Race of my own being a Parent of a WRr. It has been a great Journey. I have seen amazing growth in Bekah, & also growth in myself (Faith, Love of others & Security in God’s Promises).

My experience on the PVT in Honduras is one I will remember forever. I can’t even describe seeing her face for the first time in 8 months. I couldn’t stop smiling & hugging. The 3 days working side by side with Bekah was priceless. I got a very small taste of what she has been doing everyday for 8 months. Our first day we went into the city of Siguatepque, we walked the streets & prayed for the people, their businesses & their salvation. Most of us parents were a bit reluctant, but our Racers stepped into action. It was so awesome to see them interact with people even though they didn’t know the language. Our second day we went to Hope Farm. Bekah & I learned how this family makes chocolate from the Cacao bean to the finished product to help raise money for their family. It was extremely interesting to see how the dad in the family envisioned the whole process & made everyday items work to meet their needs. They made us the most delicious brownies to sample using their chocolate. YUMMY!!! We also purchased brownie mix from Hope Farm to bring back to the states. We also went down to the field & watched the neighborhood children pay baseball with some of the other parents & racers. Our third day we went to a local school. Bekah & I went into a second grade classroom & talked about ourselves, we then took them out for recess & played games. I also helped paint a few flowers on a mural that one of the parent’s had drawn on a outside wall. It was a blast helping the children paint, flowers or butterflies.

Bekah & I got a couple hours each day of alone time. We were able to catch up on each others lives over the last 8 months. It was a glorious time. One of my favorite times was Worship time with everyone. I was blown away to experience how much Bekah has grown in teaching herself the ukulele. What an awesome time of worship. God spoke to me thru her playing & singing! I cried tears of joy!

I think the PVT energized both of us to complete the next 2 1/2 months strong. It was hard to get on the bus & drive away, but I knew she was coming home SOON!! I am so glad Bekah asked me to be a part of her Race & experience Honduras with her for a few days. I am so BLESSED!!”
