Catching the Wave

I’ve been sitting here in my room for the last couple of hours, looking out the window of my hotel room.
I can’t get over the beauty of the ocean. The crash of the waves. The calm sound of the waves coming on shore.
I know, I know, you’re probably wondering why I’m not out there actually on the beach, taking it all in.
But I’m actually just really content today to just sit in my a/c room and watch, absorb, and enjoy. (It didn’t help that it was raining outside, and I didn’t really want to get soaked.)

The Lord has been speaking to me as I’ve been sitting here.
He’s been reminding me to let His waves crash over me–the waves of His love. As I finish out this season and move into the next, His love is still there–a deep, complex ocean, with giant waves.
Waves that aren’t threatening, but inviting. They’re inviting me to step in, to let them crash over me and waves to catch to ride.

The Lord has been reminding me about these simple truths:

It’s not about where you are.
Or what you’re doing.
It’s about who you are,
And who you’re becoming.

Even after these 11 months on the Race, I’m still learning how to step into my identity. I’m learning to fully embrace the person The Lord has made me to be. I’m still learning to live with confidence–that He is my all, I am fully accepted by Him, so I don’t need to live for the acceptance of anyone else.

It’s beautiful to think about–He could have taught me all the lessons I’ve learned at home.
But The Lord chose to use the Race to teach me, to help unearth more of myself, to help me go on adventures with him. How sweet of a Father is He.

I’m catching the waves of His love. And I’m riding them all the way home.
