Burdened.

That’s how I feel right now. So. Very. Burdened.

Tonight while we were at dinner, a young girl approached me and asked for food. I had just gotten my bowl of Pho soup, but I didn’t know how to her some of the soup. So I just said “No.” She didn’t want money. She just wanted some food. She asked a few more times, and I just ignored her. But all the while my heart was crying out to the Lord.

I know I can’t help everyone. There are certain people that the Spirit leads me to help.

But this seemed different.

I think the Lord used this young Cambodian girl to remind me of the brokenness and sin that I’m walking in. In my own life, but also in the lives of the people around me. On the Race we’ll be serving broken people who are dead in their sin, who will just be wanting immediate fixes. And we can only offer so much relief to them. In the end, they need Christ. They need Him to save them from themselves.

I walked around the Night Market the rest of the night praying for this young girl. And praying for the eyes of my heart to be attentive to what the Spirit is doing around me. I prayed for the people we walked by. I prayed for the darkness that covers Cambodia to be lifted, and for the light of Christ to dwell here.

My heart is still burdened.

I hope and pray that this burden is not lifted. Because I want to share in this load as long as Christ would have me. I want to be faithful to pray for the people of Cambodia who do not know my sweet Jesus.

Upcoming Ministry:

Early tomorrow morning we head out to Po Peyl Village. It’s about an hour tuk tuk ride outside of Siem Reap. We’re all pretty excited.

We met with our contacts on Saturday afternoon, after the house church service, and they told us about the weeks ahead. The schedule is a little intimidating. But. Y’all. The Lord has great things ahead for us. We’ll be teaching English classes, guitar classes, and home Bible studies.

I’m expecting to have some good stories to share over the next few weeks while we’re in the village.

Please pray as we go out that we would be faithful to preach the gospel and that we would be sensitive to the Spirit’s movements

Route Change Announcement!

So, our route changed slightly. Instead of going to Botswana, Swaziland, and South Africa we’ll be going to some other wonderful African countries! We’ll be headed to Uganda, Rwanda, and Ethiopia! It’ll be good.
