So, just to make things a little interesting, and to help some of y’all get to know me a little better, I thought I would share some random facts about myself.
Here we go:
1. I love to sing for my Savior. Even if it’s I’m all alone in my car singing at the top of my lungs.
2. My favorite Christmas movie is The Family Stone. The last two Christmases that I’ve watched it I’ve bawled my eyes out.
3. I. LOVE. ROLLER COASTERS. And I mean, love them. I get super excited when they are mentioned. Like, super excited.
4. I am quite terrified by crickets.
5. I ask, “What’s your next step?” to sixteen 4-year-olds at least 50 times every day at work.
6. I enjoy playing card games with people. Especially Nertz, Wizard, and Phase 10.
7. I love watching sunsets. I am always amazed by all the colors that are in the sky.
8. I’ve shot an empty paintball gun at a black bear that was less than 100 feet away.
9. I followed a friend into a dark meadow to chase off a black bear. We couldn’t see anything down in the meadow…so the bear could have easily killed us. BUT IT DIDN’T!
10. I’ve had way too many close calls in the car. Meaning, the Lord has protected me from many car accidents! He shows me so much grace!
11. I’ve driven 115 mph in my old VW Beetle, and I’ve lived to tell about it. (I did get a massive speeding ticket, but it makes for a good story now.) It was the smoothest car ride ever.
12. I’ve driven across the country by myself twice. It’s not as bad as I thought it would be. But I would have loved to have company. I talked to myself way too much…people probably thought I was crazy. Because I would literally carry on a conversation with hand gestures and everything.
13. I really only like to watch sports when I’m at a game–like sitting in the stands and cheering on a team. I hate watching sports on tv. It’s so lame.
14. I don’t like wearing socks. It doesn’t mean that I don’t wear socks, I just don’t like to.
15. I love to cook and bake. I am usually the one to make dinner, which is great because I really enjoy it. My favorite is baking though. I love making banana bread especially–my friends all tell me that it’s the best they’ve ever had. I think there’s still room for improvement though.
16. I’m going on an Alaskan cruise with my family during the summer. I’m really excited to go exploring!! AND it’s a Disney cruise! What what?!
17. I love watching re-runs of Friends. They always make me laugh.
18. I’m scared of sewing machines. They freak me out. No lie. I can be around them, but I can’t use them. They move too fast for me, and I feel like I can’t control what they do. So, I’ll stick with hand-stitching things.
19. Mud grosses me out. It’s the worst when I have to walk through it. The way it attaches itself to your shoes and then won’t let go…and how it’s slimy and gooey…ew, ew, ew. No me gusta.
20. One time my family drove all the way to Amarillo, TX, just to eat at one of my dad’s favorite restaurants.
21. I love sending letters and notes to people through the mail. Oooh! Postcards!! My absolute favorite thing is to send postcards!! (So I will be definitely be sending some postcards to people as I travel around the world.)
22. I am a terrible gardener. I don’t have a green thumb. And every plant that I’ve ever tried to take care of has died on me. So, I’ll stick with doing other things–like baking.
23. My favorite holiday is Easter. My second favorite? Thanksgiving. These are the two holidays that are centered on the reason we celebrate rather than “getting stuff.” Easter is by far the best–especially when we have a sunrise service and welcome in the day with the Lord’s praises. So. Good.
