Throughout my entire life God has been changing and completely exceeding my expectations, why should I be surprised that He would do that same thing throughout all of my Training Camp?
Let’s start by rewinding to the moment I got in my car with my gear in the backseat as I prepared to drive to White, Georgia for Training Camp. During that 3 hour drive, all I could think about was that I literally had NO idea what to expect to do for the next 7 days. I knew nothing about what I would be doing during my time at Training Camp, what I would be eating, where I would be sleeping, or anything else for that matter. All I really knew was that I was supposed to bring my gear and that I would finally get to meet the people who would be joining me on this journey called The World Race. But it didn’t take me very long to realize after arriving that that was exactly how it was supposed to be.
Throughout my 7 days at Training Camp, God challenged me in what seemed at the time as every way possible and He taught me more about myself than I would ever have expected. Before I arrived at Training Camp, it was a complete mystery to me and I had very few expectations. During and throughout Training Camp, I began to build up my own expectations for what the next 11 months of my life would look like and what I wanted them to look like. But by the end of camp, God had refined and replaced all of my expectations with His plan and showed me how much greater His plans are than mine.
During Training Camp I was blessed with the opportunity to dance and sing daily in worship with 150+ other people who’s deepest desire is to be the hands and feet of Jesus to the world. I had the opportunity to meet the most wonderful group of people from all over the country who I get to call my Squad and who I will get to travel the world to serve God with for the next 11 months. I got to be built up and encouraged by my brothers and sisters in Christ and prepared to be sent into the World to share my love for Jesus Christ.
I am SO beyond excited to begin my journey on The World Race on July 3rd when I board the plane to fly to our first destination of Nepal! I am so ready to see how God is going to move in my heart and in the hearts of the people around me over the next 11 months of my life. I know one thing for sure and that is that it is going to be quite the adventure!
Meet G Squad!! (Aka the people who I will be traveling to all 11 countries with over the next 11 months)
ALSO, meet the 6 people who I will be sleeping next to and serving directly aside with on this journey!
I would like you all to meet my team, Team Aperture! We chose the name Aperture because in photography, the wider the aperture becomes and the more light that is let into the lens, the better and clearer the picture becomes. And that is what our desire is for our team this coming year, that we would continually be widening our lenses to allow Christ to shine his light in us and for Him to use us to bring His light to world while also widening our view of Himself and of the world. I cannot wait to serve along side of these 6 people who share my love for the Lord and my passion to see his love and grace brought to the entire world. 🙂
In other news…after returning from Training Camp, I was completely blown away and humbled to discover that I am now at 51% in my funding status!!! Praise God!! I am so grateful for everyone who have donated their money and time in prayer to me and this next journey in my life. God is truly using you all to bless me beyond measure and I have no doubt in my mind that He will continue to do so.
THANK YOU FOR ALL OF YOUR SUPPORT!!
